Texas 2020 is a body of work created while first taking temporary residency in South Texas for 3 months. A return to my hometown for the first time in over two decades and a precursor for work to come.

Inspired by driving through the landscape of the Southwest: the great desert plateaus, former ocean beds, rocky cliff sides and vistas; as if seen for the first time. These paintings were born from a new perspective of a familiar place, seeing the parallels between the landscape and my own experience, and a direct response to life in flux during uncertain times.
